Arizona Article 9 Training

Article 9 is the 9th article of Chapter 6 (DDD), of Title 6 (DES), of the Arizona Administrative Code. It is a legal requirement that is specific to Arizona’s Division of Developmental Disabilities. Article 9 breaks down teaching techniques that can be used to support individuals with challenging behaviors, while also highlighting techniques that are prohibited. Article 9 identifies specific rights of the individuals we support to ensure that, as a vulnerable population, their explicit and implicit rights are protected.

This course is taught by a certified Article 9 Instructor. After completing the course and passing the assessment with a minimum score of 80%, participants will receive an Article 9 certification that is valid for 3 years.

All individuals have the right to be treated with dignity and respect.
